Our Massage Therapists provide remedial, sports & other forms of massage.
Six different massage techniques are offered:
Superficial massage movements that help to alleviate stress and anxiety, stimulate circulation and can improve quality of sleep.
Deeper, more therapeutic technique often used in treatment of specific injury or complaint, increases range of movement. Decreases pain and improves tone and function of muscles. Promotes circulation allowing faster healing of muscles and other soft tissues.
A new technique particularly aimed at strengthening weakened muscles, mobilises restricted joints.
MTPS are hyperirritable points within muscle which may cause a characteristic pain referral pattern. For example, MTPs can exist in neck & shoulder musculature and may produce headaches, arm pain & other nerve disturbances. MTPs are assessed & treated.
Generally a more invigorating style of massage incorporating techniques to either reduce muscle recovery times between exercise or to prepare muscles for activity. Massage techniques include muscle testing for strength/weakness, hacking, pounding, deep stroking, deep friction as well as passive stretches to help lengthen muscles and improve range of movement.
This technique realigns and rebalances the muscles and connective tissue, stimulating energy and circulatory flow enabling the body’s own resources to heal itself. A series of transverse muscle and connective movements enables effective treatment of a wide range of musculo- skeletal and organic disorders.
